The Fourth Meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC-4) for the SCS SAP Project officially commence on 22-24 June 2026, bringing together National Focal Points, Ministry chairpersons, and technical experts from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The three-day event serves as a pivotal governance milestone to review national achievements and secure the long-term sustainability of the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand large marine ecosystems.
A central focus of PSC-4 is the strategic review and discussion of the updated draft Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and Strategic Action Programme (SAP) reports. These foundational scientific documents establish the baseline data required to address shared environmental pressures across borders. Furthermore, the committee is tasked with reviewing and adopting the revised overall workplan and budget for the 2026–2027 period to lock in operational targets.
To foster regional synergy, the meeting also features a dedicated Knowledge Sharing and Exchange Event. This platform allows country partners to showcase concrete outputs, products, and lessons learned in managing critical mangroves, coral reefs, seagrasses, and wetlands.
The SCS SAP, together with partners and experts, aim to bridge rigorous science with synchronized national policies. The PSC-4 will continue to foster a shared regional commitment to balancing economic development with ecological resilience, ensuring a sustainable legacy for the Seas of East Asia.
The PSC-4 will be succeeded by the in-person learning event for SEA Grantees .
