Between 4 April and 9 April 2026, a conservation mission was conducted in Bintan, Indonesia, to implement protection measures for local seagrass meadows.
Key outcomes included the formal delineation of Seagrass Protection Areas in the villages of Mapur and Pengudang and the signing of village regulations to prevent habitat degradation. Additionally, the initiative included training programs for local coastal women to support sustainable income diversification. This project is part of a broader network encompassing over 10 pilot sites across six countries in the Seas of East Asia.
