The implementation phase of the SCS SAP is fully underway with the support of participating countries to finalize detailed activities at the national and regional level and in spite of the challenges of COVID-19, all partners and national teams are able to initiate initial actions.
National teams continuously organized their internal coordination and consultations with concerned agencies and institutions to discuss the project and implementation phase activities such as confirmation of national focal points of different project bodies including the Specialized Executing Agencies, review and confirmation of intervention sites and targets, and review and updating of the draft National Implementation Report particularly the sites and targets, activities and workplans, and budget, which are in varying stages of completion by participating countries. The Project Cooperation Agreements for national execution are in different stages of progress and finalization.
The National Implementation Reports (NIRs) are currently being developed and finalized by the national lead and executing agencies of the project. The NIRs will be the basis for execution of national and site level activities.
