The Green Fins Regional Workshop is a four-day strategic event focused on enhancing regional capacity and strengthening regional alliance between Philippines and Indonesia in mitigating transboundary threats arising from marine tourism activities. This event took place from 4-7 February 2026 in Bali, Indonesia.

More specifically, workshop aims to :

  1. Share and validate data-driven policy tools to mitigate tourism-related threats to marine ecosystems.

  2. Align regional needs with national plans to ensure long-term funding and institutional support for Green Fins.

  3. Accelerate the use of citizen science and AI tools in Indonesia and the Philippines to strengthen evidence-based policy and transboundary enforcement.

This event is co-organized by SCS SAP and Reef-World Foundation as part of the project ‘Improving ecotourism standards in the region by mainstreaming Green Fins’. The project aims to integrate internationally recognized marine ecotourism standards in the marine tourism industry of the region to ensure transboundary collaboration for sustainable blue economic impact to local communities, marine ecosystems and species.
