Second Meeting of the Regional Working Groups on Coastal and Marine Ecosystems
Marriot Iloilo, Iloilo City, Philippines, Philippines
For nearly four years, the SCS SAP Project Regional Working Groups on coastal and marine ecosystems have moved from virtual meetings to an on-the-ground gathering in Iloilo City, Philippines. This marks the first in-person meeting for these groups since their inaugural virtual sessions in December 2021. The four-year gap has been challenging, as the six SCS SAP countries face pressure to achieve global commitments on climate, biodiversity, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This pivotal meeting has created a critical space for richer, more dynamic discussions on the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis/Strategic Action Programme (TDA/SAP) process.
